The Haryana Vigyan Manch was established in the year 1987. It is a vol- untary, nongovernmental organisation of persons working in natural, social, engineering, medical and related areas with branches in almost all the districts of Haryana. HVM has been actively engaged in undertaking several pro- grammes in science popularisation and stimulation of a scientific temper among people besides training pro- grammes on industry and agriculture.

HVM is successfully transmitting the message of science and scientific knowledge through traditional media- in particular through folk songs, street plays, audio cassettes and through sym- bols and images on wall papers and posters. It is bringing out a popular science magazine in Hindi titled "Hary- ana Science Bulletin". It has estab- lished "Bal Sabha" units in different schools of Haryana.

HVM is also working on a project titled 'explaining miracles scien- tifically' by organising workshops to debunk popular myths and supersti- tions prevailing in our society.
